  • No designated hitters or pinch hitters allowed.

Hitting & Fielding

Any ground ball that advances beyond the singles line is a single regardless of whether it is fielded cleanly. The fielder must field a grounder at or before the line, cleanly, to be an out. If the fielder bobbles and drops the ball, at or before the singes line, it is a single. If a batted ball comes to a stop in front of the singles line before being fielded, it’s a foul ball.

Any ball caught in the air is an out.

Bunting is not allowed. The batter can obtain a base on balls

An out for the batter can be made in three ways:

  1. The batter can strike out if a pitch hits the strike zone with 2 strikes or if a foul tip hits the strike zone with 2 strikes.

  2. Fly balls caught in fair or foul territory.

  3. Ground balls fielded cleanly while the ball is in motion, in fair territory, at or in front of the “single line”.

See sketch of playing field. A triple is any ball in the air off the fence.
